Good Tuesday, everyone. The past few weeks have featured some wild and woolly winter weather in the Bluegrass State. We’ve had several ice systems, above-normal snowfall and arctic cold. Now it looks as if Old Man Winter is calling a timeout for the next week or longer.
Our Tuesday begins with a few clouds and temps in the upper 20s and low 30s. Partly sunny skies will be with us during the afternoon, with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. The weather for Wednesday looks similar, with a bit of sunshine.
Our next weather maker rolls in by late Thursday and will bring scattered showers. You can see those well on the GFS:
Temps ahead of this on Thursday will head toward 50 degrees, and highs will be in the 40s for Friday.
Much warmer air will surge back in by the weekend, with temps well into the 50s. This is likely to lead us into a rainy period from late in the weekend into early the following week.
The transition from mild to cold looks to be coming by the middle or end of next week. Check out the numbers from the GFS:
There’s a lot of winter left in the tank for the middle and end of February. Have a great day and take care.
