Good Tuesday, everyone. We have been talking about winter returning to the Bluegrass State, and that return starts Wednesday. We have a quick-moving storm system that will bring wet snow and a mix our way.
The system develops today across Texas and rides northeastward toward North Carolina on Wednesday. The NAM has been consistent with this system:
Temps are marginally cold enough for snow and the ground is warm, so accumulations might be limited. That isn’t stopping the NAM from putting down a bit of snow for some:
Arctic air will arrive behind a cold front late Friday. A wave of low pressure might develop along this front and produce some snow around here. How much remains to be seen, but the cold air is impressive:
Highs in the 20s and lows in the teens will be likely for Saturday and Sunday. Gusty winds will make it feel a lot colder.
I will have updates as needed later today. Have a good one and take care.
