A sweet Valentine’s Day forecast

Good Thursday and Happy Valentine’s Day. Sunny skies and normal temps are on the menu for all the lovers out there. This should make for a good looking and feeling day across the entire region.

That good looking day will slowly give way to a much colder pattern as we hit the weekend. An arctic cold front will sweep across the state late Friday. This front will bring a burst of light snow with it as our temps begin to crash.

Take a look at the cold look of the European Model:

Highs in the 20s and lows in the teens will be with us for Saturday and Sunday. Both days will continue to feature snow showers and flurries and we could pick up on some light accumulations.

Another storm system is poised to work across the region late Monday into Tuesday. That will bring rain and snow by Monday night with some snow to follow for Tuesday. That will also tap another shot of arctic air:

This is a pattern that looks to feature several more shots of arctic air over the next few weeks. It’s also a very active one and that means additional snow threats will take us into early March.

Happy Valentine’s Day and take care.
