Good Wednesday and welcome to hump day. The middle of the work week is a very cold one here in the commonwealth of Kentucky. Sunny skies will do very little to warm us up out there today. Today’s sun will give way to tomorrow’s clouds and a late day wintry mix.
Temps today will struggle to get into the low and middle 30s. Winds won’t be as gusty as the past few days, but a nice little breeze will continue to blow.
Clouds will increase on Thursday as a storm system develops across the plains states. That will throw some moisture our way by the end of the afternoon into the evening. This will likely fall in the form of light mix. Milder air will then slowly work in overnight Thursday and that will change all the precipitation to rain. You can see that well on the GFS:
Those showers will then continue into Friday with gusty winds boosting our temps into the upper 40s to near 50.
As the storm works off to our east, slightly colder air moves in for the weekend and there could be a shower or two going up.
The pattern into next week remains very active. One system will impact our weather Monday into Tuesday and that could give us thunderstorms and snowflakes within hours of one another.
The next storm looks to crank up toward the end of the week and that one could become a big time system.
Make it a great Wednesday and take care.
