Tracking a midweek storm

Good Monday and welcome to the first week of March. We’re coming off of five straight days of snow showers and squalls, and that’s not something many folks like to see this year. I do see a period of milder air moving in by the end of the week. That’s the good news. The bad news: We will bookend it with more wintry weather.

A storm system Tuesday and Wednesday continues to look the same as what I was rambling about with my earlier post. One weak low works into the region on Tuesday, and a stronger low takes over across the Carolinas on Tuesday night and Wednesday. That’s when a swath of snow will be likely around here.

Some accumulating snow will be possible during this time. Here’s hoping the heaviest stays to our north and east.

That storm will pull away by Thursday as thermometers begin to warm. Readings will hit the 60s by the weekend.

GFSThat surge of mild will be ahead of a cold front that sweeps in here early next week. That will usher in another blast of colder air and some more flakes.

Make it a great Monday and take care.
