Good Monday everyone, and welcome to another cold week. This week’s weather will be similar to what we’ve experienced for much of the past few weeks, but a turn to mild is in sight. That statement has been a long time coming.
A cold front rolling through the state today might bring some passing rain or snow showers. This front will be noted for the amount of cold air filtering in behind it. Highs today will make it only into the 40s.
Readings tonight will drop into the 20s and hit only the upper 30s and low 40s on Tuesday. Wednesday will feature some sunshine, with lows in the 20s and highs in the low and middle 40s.
A southern storm system will roll eastward by Thursday, and that is likely to bring some chilly showers our way. Here’s the GFS:
Milder air will then begin to surge in by the weekend, with highs hitting the 60s, and that’s a sign of things to come. The warmest air of the year is likely next week. This will be a dramatic turnaround, and I’ve put together a map to illustrate this flip:
Have a great Monday and take care.
