A great start to Keeneland

Good Friday and welcome to the opening day of the spring meet at Keeneland. It looks like mother nature may hit the trifecta with the weekend forecast as spring finally arrives. This will set the stage for a much warmer pattern into next week.

Our day will start with some clouds hanging tough, but sunshine will breakout from west to east by this afternoon. What does that mean for folks heading out to Keeneland? Here ya go:

Afternoon readings will top out right around the 60 degree mark. That puts us closer to where normal highs should be for this time of year. Even milder temps move in for the weekend:

NAMTemps will flirt with 70 degrees both days, but Sunday may feature an isolated shower or thunderstorm.

That chance for a storm will last into early next week as even milder air sweeps into town. Highs will surge into the 70s and can hit 80 on any day that features sunshine.

A slow moving storm will then work in here by the middle and and of the week. That will increase the threat for thunderstorms and may bring heavy rains to the commonwealth.

Have a great Friday and take care.
