Tracking more storms and big changes

Good Wednesday to oneĀ  and all. Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms will roll across the region today as we continue our run of summertime temps. All of that will come crashing down later in the week as a powerful cold front swings through here.

A cold front has stalled out across the Ohio Valley today and will be the focal point to get a few more storms going today. Any storm that goes up can produce hail and high winds. Here’s the radar to track the action:

Temps will warm into the upper 70s to low 80s, but that will be dependent on the placement of the boomers.

Even warmer air surges in for Thursday as thermometers head toward the middle 80s on a gusty southwesterly wind. This is ahead of a powerhouse of a cold front that slams through the state by Friday morning. That should have a line of showers and thunderstorms ahead of it and much colder air behind it.

A few of those storms may be strong or severe. Winds are going to be super gusty as the cold air replaces our round of summer. Thermometers may spend much of Friday and Saturday in the 50s for afternoon highs. Lows may drop close to freezing over the weekend.

We will get closer to normal by Sunday and Monday before another strong cold front moves in by the middle of the week:

Have a great Wednesday and take care.
