Another push of cold air for the week ahead

Good Sunday, everyone. Our weekend is wrapping up on a gorgeous, but chilly note in the commonwealth. Frost and freezing conditions start the day with more in the way of sunny skies to end it. Temps will slowly moderate over the next few days, but another cold front promises more chilly air.

Temps today will top out in the upper 50s to low 60s. These temps are still way below normal.

Current temperatures

Monday will find thermometers starting and ending warmer than today as we keep the sun. Temps will head toward 70 degrees and we may hit the low 70s by Tuesday.

Winds will increase by Tuesday as a cold front works our way by the end of the day. Clouds will increase and showers and thunderstorms arrive by Tuesday night and Wednesday morning:

GFS 3

Some of those storms may be on the strong side and that’s something we will keep an eye on. Check out the temp plunge coming in behind this system:GFS 2

Low temps by Thursday morning may go below freezing… again.

After a slow moderation in temps… another system will work toward the Ohio Valley by the this time next weekend:

GFS 4

That will give us another shot at showers and thunderstorms.

Have a wonderful Sunday and take care.
