Good Monday and Happy Earth Day. We have a fairly busy weather week taking shape across much of the country. I’m tracking two systems that will bring showers and thunderstorms our way over the next several days. This setup will also bring some pretty big ups and downs in your friendly thermometer.
Today’s weather looks fantastic. We have partly to mostly sunny skies, with highs making a run into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
Tuesday will see highs between 70 and 75 degrees as clouds slowly filter in on a gusty southwesterly wind. The gusty winds and clouds are ahead of a strong cold front that arrives Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will be along and ahead of this front.
Another dramatic drop in temps will take place as the front swings through. Take a look at the temperature plunge on the European Model:
Readings might drop into the upper 40s and low 50s on Wednesday afternoon as showers taper off.
Colder than normal temps will carry us for Thursday and Friday as our attention turns to another system working in. This one creeps in from the southwest and might have a decent amount of moisture with it:
Showers and storms might become widespread for Saturday and Sunday.
Make it a fantastic start to the week and take care.
