Good Thursday to one and all. We continue to be stuck in a familiar pattern: fog to start the day, some sun and clouds followed by booming showers and thunderstorms. That’s how things have played out over the past few days, and that’s how today should play out.
The showers and storms today will probably fire up during the heart of the afternoon and into the evening. These will be heavy rain-makers and might put down some small hail. Cloud-to-ground lightning will be noteworthy once again.
Let’s get to tracking:
Temps will top out near 80 degrees, and you will notice a little more humidity in the air.
Our attention will then turn toward a couple of cold fronts to move into the region in the coming days. The first will swing in late Friday, with an increase in showers and storms. Some of the storms might end up becoming strong or severe.
The second front will arrive Saturday, with some scattered showers and storms. Winds will be gusty, and temps will start to drop off. That will become the issue Sunday and Monday. Check out the colder than normal air surging in here:
That means highs for Mother’s Day and Monday might have a hard time hitting 60 degrees. This also willset us up for possible frost and record lows by Monday morning.
Warmer air will then flood in by the middle of next week.
Have a good one and take care.
