Good Tuesday, everyone. We have a big surge of early-summer air working into Central and Eastern Kentucky over the next few days. This will send temperatures soaring to levels more typical of June.
That warm air starts to take hold Tuesday afternoon and evening. We will start with temps around 40 and end with middle 70s on a gusty southwesterly wind. Highs will reach into the 80s by Wednesday.

The warmer air will be accompanied by a big increase in humidity levels, and that will lead to a scattering of showers and thunderstorms. That threat will carry into the weekend. Here’s the GFS rainfall forecast:
Another strong cold front will enter the picture early next week and bring a more pronounced threat of showers and thunderstorms. That front might also bring one more shot of cool air by the middle of next week.
