Good Thursday, folks. Our blast of summer air continues across the Bluegrass State for the rest of the week. Humidity is going to increase today, and that means scattered showers and thunderstorms will follow.
Once the showers and thunderstorms kick in, they look to hang around a while.
Today’s action will be fairly scattered and will really ramp up during the afternoon and evening as a cold front nears from the north. That front will never make it through here, but it will get close enough to touch off the storms.
Highs will range from the upper 70s to around 80.
Each day of the weekend will feature the threat for afternoon and evening boomers:
Locally heavy rains will be a possibility during this time. Showers and storms might become more widespread into early next week. Some of the storms could become strong or severe by that time.
This is when we have to watch for a slow-moving storm to move in by the second half of the week. That shows up well on the European Model:
That could make for some ugly weather later next week or the following weekend.
Have a great day and take care.
