Warm temps move in to start pool season

Good Monday to one and all. On this Memorial Day, I give a big salute to those who have served our great country. Today is also the day we point to as the unofficial kickoff to summer and pool season here in Kentucky.

Right on cue… here comes pool weather.

Warm air continues to push into the state today with highs in the upper 70s across much of central and eastern Kentucky. This push of warmth will continue to bring the threat of scattered showers and storms. Most of that should stay to our north and that shows up well on the NAM:

NAM 1

Let’s track whatever is out there:

Highs for Tuesday will surge into the 80s and that’s a sign of things to come this week. I’ve made a map showing how the big high in the western Atlantic steers the warm and humid air in here:

SpecialHigh temps will be from the mid to the upper 80s for through the start of the upcoming weekend. That looks to be when our next best chance of thunderstorms pushes in.

Make it a great and safe holiday and take care.
