Tracking the storm threat

Good Friday to one and all. The threat for showers and thunderstorms will really increase today and that’s a trend that carries us into the weekend. Some of these boomers may become strong or severe during this time.

The amount of humidity in the atmosphere continues to ramp up and this will aid in the development of thunderstorms. Throw in a slow moving cold front and the setup can become a bit bumpy.

Scattered storms today will be more prominent from across central and western Kentucky. That’s where the highest potential for strong or severe storms will be… especially in the afternoon and evening hours.

Let’s get to tracking today’s storms…

Rounds of showers and storms will continue into Saturday and Sunday as a strong cold front rolls our way. That front will bring a better threat for severe weather our way.

Much cooler and drier air will follow the front for the first half of next week.

Have a great Friday and take care.
