Good Monday, everyone. Our week is starting with a scattering of showers and thunderstorms rolling across central and eastern Kentucky. This action is along and ahead of a slow moving system taking aim at the region.
This isn’t a setup that features wall to wall rainfall. Instead, it’s more on and off action today and into Tuesday. Any storm that goes up may become strong with locally heavy rainfall the main threat.
Here’s regional radar to follow the boomers:
Highs today will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s and that’s about where we should be into Tuesday and Wednesday.
The warmer air you see across the southwest will make a run at us by late week into the weekend. That’s when the heat ridge inches a bit closer, but will never actually get in here:
This looks to be another setup that will feature scattered showers and thunderstorms diving in here from the northwest. That seems to be the trend of the summer… the heat just can’t get established across our part of the world. Here’s hoping that carries us through the rest of summer.
Have a great Monday and take care.
