Good Tuesday, everyone. Showers and thunderstorms have put down quite a bit of rain over the past few days. Parts of the area have picked up more than 2″ of water and we have more to go through today. These showers and storms will have the potential to produce more tropical downpours.
This means we will need to keep an eye out for the potential for localized high water issues. In addition to the heavy rain threat, these storms will be prolific lightning producers and a few could be strong.
I have you all set to track the action throughout the day:
Calmer weather moves in for Wednesday into Thursday as our skies clear. This will set the stage for a nice brand of air to move in during this time. Check out the high temps coming from the GFS:
The heat to our southwest tries to make a run at us by the end of the week into the weekend. Temps will work back into the upper 80s as humidity increases. It looks like the core of the heat will continue to stay to our west as a few showers and thunderstorms kick back in:
That seems to be the theme of the summer, so far. The heat ridge stays out west as cold fronts dive into the bluegrass state.
Have a great day and take care.
