Good Friday to one and all. The first weekend of August is upon us, and our weather looks to feature a little bit of half and half. A cold front sweeping into the state on Saturday will be responsible for the good and the bad.
Today’s weather looks nice, with highs topping out about 80 to 85 degrees, with an increase in late-day clouds. Those clouds might fire up a stray shower or thunderstorm by late evening and overnight across the north. You can see how close the boomers get on regional radar:
Our cold front arrives by the end of the day Saturday, with showers and thunderstorms increasing from northwest to southeast.
Locally heavy downpours will be possible as the front passes through. Highs ahead of the front will hit the low and mid 80s under a partly sunny sky. The air behind it will be similar to what we had a few days ago:Highs Sunday will top out in the mid and upper 70s, with a mix of sun and clouds. A leftover shower or storm will be possible across southern parts of the state. Monday morning will see temperatures in the low and middle 50s.
The pattern for Monday looks similar to Sunday. Enjoy it, because showers and storms return for the middle of next week as another push of cool air dives in from the northwest.
Have a great Friday and take care.
