Good Saturday and welcome to the first weekend of August. We have a cold front moving across the region today and this cold front will give us a taste of the good stuff… and the bad stuff.
The bad part of the forecast comes today as this front touches off scattered showers and thunderstorms. These storms will become a bit more prominent during the afternoon and evening and you can track them on our network of radars:
The good part of the weekend weather is what comes in behind the front. Cooler and drier air will move in for Sunday with temps in the mid and upper 70s under partly sunny skies. Check out the low temps for early next week:
That puts us back into the low and mid 50s to start Monday and Tuesday. Highs Monday will be in the upper 70s with low 80s returning by Tuesday. That’s when some warmer air bubbles up across the southern plains and bumps up against another push of cool air across the north.
The end result will be an increase in showers and storms:
That stormy setup may carry us from late Tuesday through Friday before the cooler and drier air wins the battle.
Make it a great Saturday and take care.
