Good Saturday, everyone. The forecast is slowly getting back to one that’s more typical of August. Temps, humidity levels and the storm threat area ll on the rise this weekend into next week. You really didn’t expect summer to go down without a fight, did you?
Temps today will top out around 80 degrees in most areas with a mix of sun and clouds. You will notice a bit more humidity in the air and that will help fuel scattered showers and storms to go up. The best chances will be across the southern half of the region. You can follow along on our network of radars…
Moisture will continue to roll in from the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday and that will lead to a greater coverage of showers and storms. Some locally heavy rains will be possible. Here’s how the GFS sees the increase in storms tomorrow:
With the increase in clouds and storms, temps will likely stay in the upper 70s.
The pattern as we roll forward into next week will feature highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s with more in the way of humidity. A daily threat for showers and storms will be with us.
That sure sounds a lot like August… finally.
Have a great day and take care.
