Tracking the weather in Kentucky and Nashville

Good Saturday to one and all. Labor Day weekend is off and running on a very steamy note. That steamy is about to turn stormy as rounds of boomers work across the state over the next few days.

Today is a busy day with outdoor activities across the bluegrass state and down in Nashville. That’s where the Cats are ready to take on Western in the season opener for football. No matter where you are today… I have you covered.

Let’s get into it…

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible across all of central and eastern Kentucky today. Temps will be in the middle and upper 80s. Any storm that goes up will be able to put down a lot of water in a short amount of time.

A few storms will also be on the move around Nashville as temps hit the low 90s for tailgaters. The kickoff temp will be around 90 and a storm or two may be around.

Let’s track it all…

The threat for showers and storms will increase as we head into Sunday and Monday as a strong cold front moves our way. The forecast models continue to point toward more than 1″ of rain by Monday night:

GFS RainThat cold front will finally clear the area by early Tuesday. MUCH cooler air will then swing into town. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 70s with lows in the 50s.

Have a fantastic day and take care.
