Muggy air is set to return

Good Saturday to one and all. Our weekend is off and running with more nice weather across central and eastern Kentucky. Unfortunately, this nice stuff isn’t going to last much longer. We have muggy air waiting on deck and this will bring the storm threat back into town.

Highs today will hit the lower 80s under a mostly sunny sky. Slap on the sunscreen if you’re going to be outdoors for an extended period of time.

You will notice the humidity returning to our region on Sunday as highs head toward the middle 80s. We could see a storm or two going up during the heart of the afternoon hours. The increase in temps and storms will really kick in for the first half of next week.

Temps may hit the upper 80s by Tuesday or Wednesday, but a lot of that will depend on how many storms crank up.

A big time cold front works in here by the end of the week:

GFS 2

That happens as the jet stream takes another big dive across the eastern part of the country:

EuroThe air from that pattern will be MUCH cooler for Thursday and Friday and that may carry us into the weekend.

Make it a great Saturday and take care.
