A great start to fall

Good Sunday and welcome to the start of fall. Autumn arrives today at 4:44pm and mother nature is giving us some fantastic weather. Crisp nights and pleasant afternoon temps will team up to make the first days of fall feel the part.

We will start today out in the 40s and end the afternoon with upper 60s to low 70s. Here’s your Kentucky forecast:

SpecialMonday looks equally as nice as temps start a few degrees colder than this morning, and recover toward similar afternoon readings.

There is still a lot of tropical moisture in the gulf and we’re likely to see a bit of that streaming northward by the middle of the week. A disturbance will drop in here from the northwest and create a few showers from late Tuesday into Wednesday and Thursday.

The future radar from the NAM shows his stuff developing by late Tuesday:

We will warm it up a little by Friday and Saturday with temps making a run toward 80 as winds turn southwesterly. That’s ahead of a cold front that arrives at some point late Saturday or Sunday:

GFSThat will likely be another big shower and thunderstorm producer around here. Much cooler air will then swing in behind that front. Does that sound familiar?

Make it a great Sunday and take care.
