A half-and-half weekend ahead

Good Friday, everyone. We continue to live a charmed weather life in the Bluegrass State. The past few weeks have been nothing short of awesome, and that rolls on into the start of the weekend. Notice I said the start of the weekend. The end doesn’t look as good.

Let’s accentuate the positive: the weather today. Highs will top out in the mid- and upper 70s under partly sunny to mostly sunny skies. Low clouds and fog will be across parts of the area to start the day.

High school football fans should be happy, with kickoff temps in the low 70s.

Saturday keeps the nice stuff, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, with more sunshine. Winds will pick up as the day wears on, and clouds might increase. Kentucky football fans will have a great evening of weather under the lights at Commonwealth Stadium:

A cold front will march eastward across the commonwealth on Sunday. This will bring a band of showers through here as the day wears on:

Showers, gusty winds and cool temps will be around. Highs should stay in the 60s for many areas.

Next week looks to feature a lot of low-level moisture hanging around Central and Eastern Kentucky. That should lead to a daily chance of a shower or thunderstorm, with highs in the low and mid 70s.

GFS 3

Have a great Friday and take care.
