Good Monday to one and all. Rain chances and temps will go up over the next few days as we get set to say goodbye to October. Gusty winds will help usher in a big change in time for Halloween.
Moisture will increase across parts of the Bluegrass State on Monday. There is a weak system just to our south that will throw some showers our way. The southern half of the state will have the highest rain chances. Track the rain on our network or radars:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be around Tuesday and Wednesday as temps rise. The highs could hit 70 degrees on a strong southwesterly wind. That wind is ahead of a powerful Plains storm that will affect our region by Halloween. That system will work toward the Great Lakes and drag a cold front across Kentucky during the afternoon and evening.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms will accompany that front as it sweeps eastward. Wind gusts might hit 40 mph at times. The timing of all this should make for some nasty weather for the kids making candy rounds:
Have a great Monday and take care.
