A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for much of central and eastern Kentucky until 3am. Here’s a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings…
Good evening. A TORNADO WATCH is out for parts of central and western Kentucky through the evening. Isolated tornadoes and damaging winds of 70mph or higher are possible as a nasty line of storms races eastward.
This will impact Louisville within the next hour and then toward the Lexington metro by late evening. You can track the latest warnings in the current Tornado Watch..
That watch may be extended farther eastward with time.
In addition to the high wind and tornado threat… widespread flooding is ongoing across western Kentucky. Some areas have picked up more than 6″ of rain on the day.
