Gusty winds continue

Good Friday to one and all. High winds and thunderstorms ruled our Thursday night in the Bluegrass State. The storms are gone, but the gusty winds remain to start the weekend. This will lead us back into a rather wintry pattern for the final week of February.

The short term will feature partly sunny skies Friday, with highs in the 40s. Winds might gust to 35 mph at times. Saturday looks like another windy day, with highs in the low 50s.

On Sunday, things begin to head back toward winter. Arctic air slowly sinks in behind a cold front that might have a wave of low pressure along it. Some of the models are indicating a band of light snow behind this late Sunday. The NAM is leading the charge:

A stronger push of arctic air moves in by the middle of the week and could be accompanied by another wave of low pressure. The GFS is showing a swath of snow developing with this: GFS

That is some very cold air showing up on the models for the second half of next week. I will touch more on that later in the weekend.

Make it a fantastic Friday and take care.
