Good Saturday to one and all. We have a fantastic start to the weekend across central and eastern Kentucky. Mild temps and sunny skies will combine to make today’s weather a winner. The rest of the forecast doesn’t look as nice. Old Man Winter is on his way back.
High temps today will reach the mid and upper 50s with plenty of sunshine. Gusty winds of 30mph will be noted, but we can’t really complain about that considering how nice everything else is.
Sunday will feature a weak cold front working into the region. Temps will spike up ahead of this front and then tail off as it swings through. Some of the models have been showing some rain or snow shower action coming in behind it Sunday evening:
Much colder weather will then swing in here as we head into next week. Thermometers will really take a dive by the middle and end of the week as arctic air gets into the mix.
Take a look at how the pattern is setting up:
That’s a similar look to the one we’ve had for much of the winter and should deliver highs in the 20s for, at least, a few days.
We will also be dealing with a few potential snow makers next week. Timing those will be the task over the next few days.
Enjoy your Saturday and take care.
