Good Wednesday to one and all. Slowly but surely, we are climbing our way out of the deep freeze that is the winter of 2013-14. Temps will finally go above freezing Wednesday and will help melt some of the snow and ice blanketing the state.
We will have partly sunny skies Wednesday as temps recover from the morning teens to the mid and upper 30s in the afternoon.
Thursday looks even milder: Highs should hit the 40s in many areas. The NAM is showing another tight temperature gradient from north to south:
With temps rising, some ugly snowmen will be showing up across the state in the coming days.
There is a storm system developing along the Gulf coast, but the models continue to take this system too far to our southeast to have much of an impact on our weather:
Temps behind that system should rise a bit by the start of the weekend. Highs in the 50s will be possible on Saturday, and another weak front drops in on Sunday. That might knock our temps down a few degrees, but there is some indication of a rebound toward a spring tease early next week.
That’s the kind of rebound most of us are waiting for.
Enjoy the day and take care.
