A half and half weekend ahead

Good Friday, everyone. We are rolling into the weekend on a windy and warmer note. While that’s taking center stage today, the potential for another winter weather maker will soon be all the talk. That arrives by Sunday.

High temps today will be close to 60 degrees on a gusty southwesterly wind. Those gusts may top out at 40mph before the day is over.

Saturday’s weather looks pretty good with a mix of sun and clouds and temps in the 50s. here is a small chance for a shower.

The main action comes Saturday as colder air pushes in from the north as moisture increases from the south. This could set the stage for rain and snow breaking out across Kentucky. The NAM is picking up on this by late Sunday afternoon:

NAM 2That model is backed up by the latest run of the European Model. That also shows a swath of wintry weather across the region through early Monday:

Here’s how the European tracks the storm:

EuroThat’s a lot of ugly showing up for Sunday and Monday and is just another sign that winter is far from over. Another sign… I’m tracking additional cold shots lining up for the rest of the month.

Enjoy our Friday and take care.
