Milder air blows rain into town

Good Thursday, everyone. We have much milder air blowing into the bluegrass state today. This will be on the nose of some moisture that brings showers and thunderstorms our way tonight and early Friday.

Winds today will be a big story. Gusts may hit 35mph at times as sunny skies turn cloudy by the late afternoon hours. Highs will range from the upper 50s to low 60s. I can’t rule out a brief shower across the north.

The threat for showers and thunderstorms will increase later tonight into early Friday as a cold front moves in. Check out the NAM Future Radar for late tonight:

NAM That action will clear out pretty quickly on Friday and will leave us with windy and sunny skies by the afternoon. This allows temps to really jump up. Check out the high temp forecast from the NAM:

NAM 2Another shot of rain moves in Friday night into the first half of Saturday. This will allow colder air to sink in through the day.

Sunday looks much better with temps nearing 60. We could flirt with 70 degrees early next week as southwesterly winds begin to crank.

What about the forecast for Wildcats fans heading to Indianapolis? Here ya go:

Friday starts with showers and ends with sun. Temps will be in the 50s.

Saturday is much colder with some light snow possible early. Highs may not get out of the low 40s.

Sunday looks windy and mild with highs around 60.

Enjoy the day and take care.
