Temps nearing the ‘hot’ category

Good Wednesday, folks. Summer temps continue to dominate the weather across the Bluegrass State. As a matter of fact, highs Wednesday and Thursday will be borderline hot. That’s saying something for the first week of May.

Although the heat is the main topic right now, storms will soon crash the party. More on that in a bit.

Highs Wednesday will surge into the mid-80s for most of the region. A few areas could see highs in the upper 80s. Let’s track the numbers:

Thursday might warm up a few more degrees compared to Wednesday. Highs in the mid- to upper 80s will be possible again under a sunny sky.

Showers and storms begin to move in on Friday as a cold front slowly works our way:

Another system will move in for early next week and bring additional showers and thunderstorms. Heavy rain will be likely from Friday through Tuesday, and we could see strong or severe storms.

Have a great day and take care.
