Good Thursday, everyone. The powerful thunderstorms from Wednesday night continue to push away and this will leave us with much better weather in the coming days. That’s certainly good news for Memorial Day weekend.
A cold front is sagging southward across the state Thursday and will continue to produce scattered showers and storms. They will be most likely early Thursday and across the southern half of the state. Breezy conditions and some afternoon sun will boost highs close to 80 degrees.
Rainfall since midnight
Much cooler and drier air filters in behind this front for Thursday night and Friday. Lows Friday morning will be about 50 degrees, with afternoon highs only 70-75 degrees. Throw in a sunny sky and you have a near-perfect start to the big weekend.
Saturday will feature sunny skies and highs again in the 70s. You will notice a bit more humidity Sunday, with afternoon highs hitting the low 80s. On Memorial Day, things will turn a bit steamy. Check out some of the afternoon highs being forecast on the GFS:
Overall, the week looks much above normal for most of the country:
Have a great Thursday and take care.
