Tracking another stormy day

Good Thursday to one and all. It’s another day of tracking showers and thunderstorms across central and eastern Kentucky. These storms will be feeding upon a tropical environment and that means heavy rainfall is a big threat.

A Flash Flood Watch is out for parts of the state today:

In addition to the flash flood potential, a few of the storms could be strong or severe. Isolated wind damage and large hail will be possible.

A weak cold front will slide in from the northeast on Friday and may push the storms to our south for a bit. Check out the break in the action from late Friday through Saturday:


The threat for showers and storms will return by Sunday and that threat should carry us into much of next week. The first week of June looks to feature a continuation of the very warm, muggy and stormy pattern:
