Happy Saturday, everyone. Our weekend is off and running on a much better weather note across central and eastern Kentucky. Humidity levels will come down as skies dry out for a while. The muggy and stormy air won’t get too far away and looks to return late Sunday.
Skies today will be mostly sunny with temps topping out in the upper 70s to low 80s. I still can’t rule out a pop up shower or storm near the Tennessee border.
The break in the muggy air will be brief as out flow turns southwesterly again on Sunday. That will lead to an increase in temps, humidity levels and the threat for afternoon showers and storms.
You can see how the moisture supply is coming out of the western Gulf:
The chance for scattered storms will hang around into the first half of next week. Humidity levels will be the highest we’ve had since last summer and temps may be as well. Highs could hit 90 at some point next week.
The end of the week may become more active as a front stalls out across he region:
Have a great day and take care.
