Good Tuesday, folks. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase across the region, and some of them could be strong. This setup continues a rather stormy pattern that’s firmly in place.
Tuesday’s storms will be much more widespread as a weak front nears the region from the west. Throw in a wave of low pressure along the front, and you get some extra lift in the atmosphere. That helps in the development of showers and storms.
Any storm that goes up Tuesday is likely to contain torrential rainfall and lots of lightning. I can’t rule out some localized severe weather.

Highs Tuesday will top out in the low to mid-80s for most of the region.
This same forecast looks to play out in the coming days. The extent of storms will vary from day to day, but there isn’t a whole lot of change to our weather story through the coming weekend.
