Good Thursday, everyone. NASCAR is rolling into the Bluegrass State this weekend as the eyes of the sport focus on the Kentucky Speedway. With such a big outdoor event, the weather becomes crucial. Will we keep a green flag for the race or will storms make a pit stop? Let’s talk weather before my puns get out of control.
The Quaker State 400 runs this Saturday night at 7:30 at the Speedway. I don’t have any changes to my line of thinking about the weather picture.
Things look very warm and humid with the threat of scattered storms. That chance of storms is looking just a little more likely than the past few days. We have an abundance of moisture moving in from the deep south. That will touch off rounds of showers and storms for Saturday and Sunday.
Locally heavy rains will be possible. Highs should run from the mid to upper 80s.
Between now and then, scattered storms will develop Thursday and Friday. Highs today will be in the middle to upper 80s. The high might flirt with 90 on Friday.
I leave you with your daily dose of storm-tracking toys:
Have a terrific Thursday and take care.
