Good Friday, everyone. Our weekend is looking like a stormy one across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Rounds of boomers look to increase, and that’s not the best of news for folks heading to the Kentucky Speedway on Saturday.

Scattered storms will be possible Friday, with highs hitting the upper 80s. Track away:
A surge of tropical moisture is heading into the state and will cause showers and storms to really increase over the weekend. Take a look at the simulated radar picture from the NAM:
Locally heavy rainfall will be possible during this time, and that could lead to some local high-water problems. Highs will run in the 80s.
Scattered showers and storms will continue early next week. That’s when a cold front nears the region from the northwest. The air behind this front looks fairly cool for this time of year, and the models suggest a cooler than normal Fourth of July:
