Temps to start us out today will be in the 50-55 degree range for many areas. The record low for the day for Lexington is 53 in 1976. We have a shot of getting there. Let’s track the numbers from the Kentucky Mesonet.
Afternoon highs will mainly be in the mid- and high 70s under partly sunny skies.
Clouds will increase Friday, and we could see some late-day showers developing from the south. Highs will be near 80 degrees — well below normal.
Showers and some thunderstorms will increase over the weekend as an area of low pressure works into the Ohio Valley from the southwest:
That should keep the chances of on-and-off showers and storms from the weekend into early next week. This does not mean your weekend will be a washout.
