Good Sunday to one and all. Our first weekend of August is wrapping up with tepid temps and another shot at scattered storms. What about the week ahead? I’m glad I asked that question because I think I have the answer. Let’s get into it.
Temps Sunday will range from 80-85 degrees in most areas for highs. A scattered shower or thunderstorm will develop into the afternoon and evening. Just like the past few days, the greatest threat will be across eastern parts of Kentucky.
Thermometers into the first part of the new week will be among the warmest we’ve had in a while. That’s not saying a whole lot considering how cool things have been of late. Highs will range from the mid to upper 80s in most areas.
Scattered showers and storms will be possible, but we should see a lot of dry times in there. The storm chance really ramps up during the second half of the week as we find ourselves between cool to the north and heat to the southwest.
This is where you can get some pretty good clusters of showers and thunderstorms to fire up. The European Model is showing a very strong system working our way by the end of the week:
That’s a setup that could produce a heavy rain and severe threat into parts of our region. Something to keep a close eye on as we roll forward.
Get out and make it a wonderful Sunday and take care.
