Good Monday, everyone. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will continue to push across the state this week. Now we get some tropical temperatures and humidity to join the party. The only thing missing from the tropical setup is the beach. Oh well, we can’t have everything.
Showers and storms come at us in waves Monday and will have the potential to put down heavy rains. This same pattern hangs around through the rest of the week. No, it’s not going to rain all the time, but occasional torrential rainfall is a good bet.
The overall setup features storms coming in from northwest to southeast through the end of the week. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
— Humidity will get even higher in the coming days. This steamy air will help fuel the development of heavy rain-producing showers and storms. Watch for local high water problems as storms move through.
— The air is going to turn very steamy this week. Any day that doesn’t feature thunderstorms could see highs flirting with 90 degrees. Regardless of the temps, it’s going to feel like a sauna out there.
— This pattern won’t hold very long, and I see things trending cooler again as we head into next week. That could set the stage for some pleasant weather as we head toward Labor Day.
