Cold front arrives today

Good Sunday to one and all. We have a very strong cold front swinging across the region today and this will usher in some chilly changes. We will also be tracking a scattering of showers and thunderstorms.

Today is NOT going to be a washout and you will have several dry hours. The showers and storms will be scattered about the region ahead of the front. Winds will also be a big time player with gusts of 35-40mph possible as the boundary swings through here. I will have your tracking toys in a moment.

Temps will drop quickly as the front passes to our south and southeast. This allows readings to drop into the 40s by Monday morning. Tuesday morning is looking even colder with a few spots possibly flirting with 40 degrees.

GFS 2Highs Monday will likely stay in the middle 60s with mid and upper 60s for Tuesday.  The reason for the big chill down is another Canadian high pressure that sets up across our region:

Special 2That high will slide to our east later in the week and allow our temps to return to the normal 70-75 degree range for highs. This also looks like a very nice weather period.

Let’s get back to today’s front. I have you all set to track the action:
