Nasty weather rolling in

Good Tuesday, everyone. We have a wild setup across the Bluegrass State for the next couple of days. Heavy rain, high winds, thunderstorms and some snow highlight the forecast as we head into the Christmas travel period.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

– Showers and some rumbles of thunder will be possible today with winds increasing. Highs will top out in the mid and upper 50s.

Current temperatures

– Winds increase late tonight into Wednesday and could reach 40mph+ at times into Christmas Eve. Check out the forecast wind gusts from the NAM:

– Heavy rain and thunderstorms will also be possible on Wednesday.

– A MAJOR temperature drop is on the way on Wednesday. Temps spike into the 60s and then drop into the 30s just a few hours later. Check this out:

NAM 2 – That drop in temps will likely be accompanied by a few snow showers and flurries late Christmas Eve into Christmas Morning:

NAM 3That system moves away and is replaced by a cold front swinging in to start the weekend. A storm system develops along that from late Saturday into Sunday…

Euro 2That’s followed by another storm system 2 days later…

Euro 3Another system follows that up about a day or two later…

Euro 4A stalled out front with waves of low pressure developing along it will provide us with a lot of rain, snow and mix chances this weekend into early next week.

Make it a great Tuesday and take care.
