Storms increase this weekend

Good Friday, everyone. We’ve made it to the end of a short work week and are staring the weekend in the face. Unfortunately, the weekend in weather isn’t shaping up to be the best. Showers and storms are set to increase.

We will see a few more showers and storms ramping up out there. Any storm will contain heavy rain and a lot of lightning. I’ll have your tracking tools in a bit.

The storm action does increase later Saturday and Sunday as a cold front nears the region from the northwest. This front will then slow down, allowing for additional showers and storms to develop along it.

GFSA few of the storms might be on the strong side late Saturday and Sunday. This also is the time we might see the skies really open up at times. Locally heavy rainfall could cause some high-water problems.

The threat of showers and storms will be with us just about every day next week. As a matter of fact, we could see daily showers and storms for the next couple of weeks. The GFS rainfall forecast for that time:
