Good Wednesday to one and all. We continue to enjoy a serious taste of fall weather across Central and Eastern Kentucky. This nice air has us thinking about what could be on the way as we head into the real fall months.
September is less than a week away, and that’s the unofficial kickoff to fall. The weather this week is straight out of late September, but things do look to warm as we flip the calendar.
The latest runs of the CFS model show a slightly warmer-than-normal look for much of our region for September as a whole:
I have to admit to being torn on how I want to handle the forecast for the fall months. That said, odds favor our temps turning a little toasty at times in September before the chill returns in October.
Something else we have to focus on during this time is the tropics. Some of the latest models develop Erica and move this system into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The Canadian is the most robust with this system and even tries to bring it toward our region next week:
