Good Thursday, everyone. Our spectacular run of early fall weather has a few more days left in the tank before some changes blow in. Those changes begin to show up over the weekend as we start to focus our attention on the tropics.
Let’s start with where we are now.
Highs Thursday will be in the pleasant mid- and upper 70s with a mix of sun and clouds.
Friday’s weather looks great, with highs in the upper 70s and a partly sunny sky. That means another winner of a forecast for high school football fans. Temps will be similar to what we had for last week’s games.
Isolated showers and storms will be possible Saturday as moisture begins to push back in. A slightly increased chance of showers and storms should be with us Sunday. That shows up well on the GFS:
From there, it’s all about what happens with Tropical Storm Erika. This storm will probably head toward the Bahamas over the next several days and could threaten Florida as a hurricane late this weekend. Will it move across Florida and into the Gulf? What about a track up the east coast? Both options are on the table for early next week, and that will be when we know what, if any, impacts that system could have on our weather.
You can follow the storm with the latest track forecast from the National Hurricane Center:
Make it a great day and take care.
