Sweating out a few weekend storms

Good Friday to one and all. We’ve made it to the unofficial end of summer: Labor Day weekend. Mother Nature is sending summer out on a steamy note, with readings straight out of the month of July.

The sweat factor is high this weekend, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Throw in the high humidity, and it feels even hotter.

Folks who have outdoor activities might have to sweat out a scattered shower or thunderstorm crashing the party. These won’t be terribly widespread, but one or two will roll along at times.

For Wildcat fans heading to Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, it’s looking toasty:

A strong cold front slowly works our way next week with a gradual increase in storm chances. The greatest threat rolls in Wednesday and Thursday:

EuroSome needed rains could fall across the region during that time. Temps should come down behind this front and that could take us below normal for a day or two.
