Storms lead to much cooler weather

Good Wednesday, everyone. We have some big-time weather changes on the way to Central and Eastern Kentucky over the next several days. Showers and thunderstorms will usher in a true blast of fall chill as we work into the weekend.

Wednesday’s showers and storms will put down some much-needed rain. A few of the storms could be on the strong side.


A few storms will linger into Thursday morning, with a break in the action during the afternoon and evening.

More showers and storms develop Friday as a huge dip in the jet stream moves in. Check out this bad boy:

Euro 3That type of a setup is straight out of winter and should deliver chilly air to our region. Highs this weekend might not get out of the 60s in some areas:

Euro 2Overnight lows Sunday and Monday could drop deep into the 40s across the entire state. Here are the forecast lows from the GFS:
