Cold fronts highlight the week ahead

Good Sunday to one and all. Wow! What a weekend of weather here in the bluegrass state. A gorgeous sky is combining with pleasant temperatures to give us a perfect picture of fall. Things change up a bit as we head into the week ahead as cold fronts swing our way.

As a matter of fact, we have three different fronts that will impact our weather through Friday. That’s right… three! You’re probably thinking that means a lot of rainy weather also comes our way. Well, fall fronts are often starved of moisture and these will be no different.

The first boundary moves in late Monday into Monday night. That will have a broken line of showers and isolated thunderstorms with it. Winds will be very gusty as highs go from the 70s on Monday, to the low and mid 60s Tuesday.

The next boundary moves in Wednesday with another shot of chilly air. That could send lows into the upper 30s by Thursday morning:

As of right now, the big Thursday evening game at Commonwealth Stadium looks breezy and cool with temps dropping into the 50s. That forecast could change depending on the timing of the next front that arrives on Friday.

This boundary should also deliver a gusty band of showers and isolated thunderstorms:

The coldest air of this young fall season comes in behind that front and that means we have the potential for frost next weekend. Lows may drop deep into the 30s.:

Make it a sensational Sunday and take care.
