Good Wednesday, folks. Cold air continues to pour into the region from the northwest, and this is likely to cause some frost on the pumpkins. That frost could turn into a full-blown freeze this weekend!
Highs Wednesday are again in the 60s on that same gusty northwesterly wind. The air by Thursday morning is likely to be cold enough to produce some patchy frost across Central and Eastern Kentucky:
Highs Thursday are again in the 60s, with readings dropping into the 50s during the Thursday night UK game at Commonwealth Stadium. Winds will be pretty gusty throughout the day, and that carries us into Friday as a cold front swings in.
That front will cause temps to really drop over the weekend. Highs will be in the 50s, with lows dropping to near freezing Saturday morning and possibly to the upper 20s Sunday and Monday mornings.
That would be more than enough to end the growing season across our region.
Farther down the road, another potent cold front should swing in during the second half of next week.
Enjoy your Wednesday and take care.
